The Sample-McDougald House Preservation Society was founded in 1999 to:
   | Relocate the house to a site that is more secure and appropriate for public display and use; |
   | Preserve the house as a museum, historic structure and social center for the community; |
   | Interpret the house through appropriate restoration, exhibitions, education programs and tours; |
   | Promote the house so that residents and visitors of all ages are aware of their opportunity to learn about the history of this region, thus furthering the social, cultural and historic viability of the community. |
